This year, I celebrated my birthday at Tomato again. For the past few years, I’ve been going alone, but this time I went with a friend. As usual, we waited in line for two and a half hours, but it was nice to have company to pass the time.I ordered my usual Beef Tongue Curry with seasonal vegetable toppings, while my friend had the Scallop Curry with seasonal vegetable toppings.I got to taste one of the scallops, and it was perfectly cooked. Once the heat settles down, I’d love to try more seafood dishes (I actually had some last fall, but I didn’t mention it here).The Beef Tongue is undeniably delicious. I’ve mentioned it many times before, so please refer to my past reviews.The total for the Beef Tongue Curry with vegetables and ice cream comes to JPY 5400, but I believe the fair price is around JPY 12500, and I would even pay JPY 15000 for it. In other words, the cost-performance ratio is still outstanding. Some people say it’s expensive, but they simply don’t understand the pricing structure in the food industry. Those who do understand are often surprised by how affordable it is here.
