I had the chance to visit Tokyo En for the first time, quite unexpectedly!I learned about this place through a friend, whose husband is a regular here. When the person I was supposed to go with suddenly couldn’t make it, I happily accepted the last-minute invitation.I had no idea there was such a spot in Ginza. The retro facade gives off a nostalgic Showa vibe, and the interior is equally charming.I left all the ordering and grilling to my friend’s husband. I’ve heard there are various rules at this restaurant, so I figured it’s best to rely on a regular for a delicious and enjoyable experience.Although I tend to be picky and not very adventurous, I decided to go with the flow this time.First up was the salt-grilled tongue and salt outside skirt. Tongue is my favorite part when it comes to yakiniku.Here, you start with salt and once you switch to sauce, you can’t go back to salt. It seemed like the table next to us didn’t know this, so perhaps they were first-timers?Next, we had the sauced outside skirt and loin.Finally, we enjoyed a generous serving of loin!My absolute favorite in yakiniku is the salt-grilled tongue. I was so happy to have so much of it! ✨ It was incredibly tender and delicious, unlike anything I’ve experienced before!The outside skirt was also tender without any chewiness!I believe the most famous dish here is the loin. It was soaked in sauce and had a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Usually, I get tired of sauce, but I could eat this endlessly.I made sure to pace myself so I wouldn’t feel sick from overeating, and I enjoyed every bite until the end!This was a place I had bookmarked to visit, so it was an exciting night filled with joy and deliciousness!
