I first learned about this restaurant after reading an article about their commitment to preserving local ingredients following the earthquake. However, as someone who often travels by Shinkansen, the distance was a bit of a hurdle, and it took me a while to finally visit. Thank you to my companion for driving! The restaurant, located in the suburbs, has a European-style ambiance, and there’s a wood-fired stove in the kitchen where the cooking takes place. It’s absolutely fantastic!I was able to fully enjoy the blessings of both the sea and land of Iwaki. I didn’t realize that Mehikari was a local specialty! The bread had an incredible grainy texture. They offered a pairing option for JPY 18,000 and JPY 8,000 for two types. It seems they also have a non-alcoholic pairing available.
