✨ Houston’s newest hidden gem for dim sum is… inside a Courtyard by Marriott?

If “hidden gem” ever rang true, it’s here. Meet Silk Road, tucked inside the Courtyard Houston Rice University. This stunning spot serves refined Cantonese dim sum with warm Thai hospitality, led by Michelin-trained Chef Insingha (from the legendary Yu Ting Yuan + Nan Bei in Bangkok).

Faves: crispy shrimp cheung fun (hands down the best thing I’ve eaten this year), molten lava buns (a must at any dim sum spot—and especially here), mushroom bao (is it a mushroom? is it a bao? it’s adorably delicious), and the sugar-crusted BBQ pork bun you need to try. No exaggeration—everything I tasted was incredible. And their house-made chili oil? I wanted to take a bottle home.

I went with their chrysanthemum tea for my visit, but I’ve heard the craft cocktails are just as impressive as the food.

Hours:
Tues & Wed: 11AM–2PM, 5–9PM
Fri–Sun: 11AM–2PM, 5–9PM
Closed Mon & Thurs
Pro tip: Make a reservation!
Another tip: Contrary to the hotel name, it’s not next to the Rice U campus. It’s in the West U area.
📍: @silkroad_htx 2929 Westpark Dr, Houston, TX 77005
