I had such a fun night at @luthunnyc, a progressive American tasting menu spot in the East Village. Chef Nahid Ahmed draws on his travels and heritage to create dishes that are inventive, surprising, and full of personality. It is the kind of menu where you never know what is coming next, but it always delivers.
We sat at the chef’s counter and I highly recommend sitting there if you go. You get to watch the team work right in front of you, hear little stories behind the dishes, and feel the energy of the kitchen in a way that makes the whole experience even more memorable.
The food was playful and thoughtful at the same time. There were delicate bites that disappeared in a flash and bold flavors that stayed with me long after. It was the kind of meal that reminds me why I love this city: memorable food, great company, and a night that felt like the definition of a perfect New York evening.
