I visited for the first time since there was a seat available for one. It's a lovely Art Nouveau space located underground.I chose the lunch course at APICIUS and added the sea turtle soup. The dishes were as delicious as the reviews suggested. The sommelier recommended pairing the soup with sherry, and it enhanced the flavor beautifully, almost like a burst of flavor in my mouth, so I highly recommend it.However, despite only having three dishes besides the amuse-bouche and the additional soup, I ended up leaving quite a bit uneaten, including the main course and dessert. At other French restaurants, I usually leave feeling stuffed, but perhaps the generous portion sizes and the ample soup contributed to this.Additionally, I noticed a past review mentioned that the mignardises could be wrapped to take home, but it seems that is no longer an option. The service staff, likely due to the restaurant's long history, were of an older age group. They seemed to adapt their approach based on the customers rather than providing a strictly formal service. The wine chosen by the sommelier was also delightful. Since it was a selection, I didn’t look at the menu, but the total for a non-alcoholic aperitif, two glasses of wine, sherry, and sparkling water was about JPY 13,000.I believe this is a traditional French restaurant with a rich history in Japan, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to visit. It was a wonderful experience.
