When the fishmongers at @porgysnola are excited, I’m excited. They got in exactly one of these big, tasty, wonderfully strange moonfish and are making crudo with smoked tuna bone soy sauce.
Also, nice gnome and Negroni goblet.

More to come on this but … given how fast the specials change at @porgysnola , I wouldn’t want to miss these betel leaf-wrapped royal red shrimp, nor the crab and peach salad and that fat softie po-boy with banh mi dressing is no slouch either.
Seriously satisfying summer lunch.

Another fab fish & chips find, this one at @porgysnola - a Friday only special during Lent (maybe, hopefully longer?) this time with flounder, mushy peas and curry sauce.
The market/deli is a playground for seafood lovers.
Thai style ceviche, a cast-iron-dark seafood gumbo loaded with enormous shrimp and nice oysters (potato salad optional) and the crawfish roll another special today.
Go talk smack with the “lady mongers” (and the gent mongers too).

Came to @porgysnola to shop oysters for Thanksgiving , stayed for the big fat shrimp po-boy, Thai-style ceviche of amberjack and the daily special - this time spicy ground shrimp and squash curry with apple, cuc and daikon salad , your cue in that @pwchell formerly of MoPho is cooking here these days.
Oysters from @bayourosaoysters , @murderpointoysterco and @tesvichoysterfarms.2 “reef candy” for the big day.
