My summer hunt for good restaurant happy hour deals led to this outstanding example at @morrowsteak, and it was a real surprise.

The CBD spot is a magnet for celebrities. It’s heavy on vibe. Some of the prices are eye-popping, even by steakhouse standards.

But then there’s happy hour (M-F, 4-6), and this steak frites lands on the HH menu for $18.

It is all I could ask from for a steak under $20 , cooked to spec, with garlicky butter, and the crisp fries were great.
