Interesting lineup for ladies’s wine night.
07 Ramonet BBM — not as reduced but nose was still quite restrained showing floral, mineral and subtle oak notes. Dense and powerful, needs a lot of time.
Interesting to try the rare Benjamin Leroux Griotte 11 and 15 side by side. 11 was the first vintage of this negociant project, restrained nose, meaty and savory, a bit more evolved for its age but the nose got fresher with air. Rich palate and good structure. 15 was more modern in style, fresh nose with evident oak influence, silky texture, refined tannins. Ripe but not cloying, though a bit too oaky for me at this stage.
