My anticipation for Roswell Junction was high, but unfortunately, the reality has been overpriced mediocrity from most vendors. Thankfully, there's a standout worth praising: @bertolozi_pizzeria, which proudly calls itself the home of Chicago cracker thin pizza—and they absolutely deliver. Pictured is the Joyce with cupped pepperoni, honey, and ricotta. I’d lean more towards my wife’s which was the same, sans the final two ingredients.
I’ve said before that the best thing at Bobby G’s is their thin crust Chicago tavern-style pizza, and Bertolozi is right up there. In fact, I’d give Bertolozi the cracker thin edge (see what I did there?) as the best Chitown thin crust I’ve had in these parts. The Junction’s long-term success feels uncertain, but I hope this pizza spot sticks around—wherever it lands.
