NYC’s most talked-about new bakery sells exactly one loaf of bread… and it costs $60. Naturally, I had to see if it was actually worth the hype.

RYE by MARTIN AUER just opened in NYC, bringing generations of Austrian bread-making to a single 100% rye sourdough made with just flour, water, salt and time.

Honestly...this is genuinely some of the best bread I’ve ever had. Would I casually bring home a $60 loaf every week? Probably not. Would I absolutely go back, order a few slices with toppings and make it a snack? Yes.
