On my day off, I visited Rin, located about a 7 to 8 minute walk from Hamamatsu Station, after making a reservation through OMAKASE about a month ago.I arrived at the restaurant at 11:30 AM for my reservation and was guided to a tatami seating area. There were two other groups of customers already there, making a total of three groups that day. I thought I could order items other than the unadon on the day, but it turned out that only drinks were available.First, I was shown the eel that would be prepared that day, and the cooking began. While waiting for my unadon, I enjoyed chilled black oolong tea and a Japanese radish appetizer. After a while, the grilling of the eel finally started, but since I was seated on tatami, I couldn't see much. I wanted to watch the cooking process, and when I noticed quite a bit of smoke, it seemed the staff misunderstood my concern and came to open the entrance. I apologize for that.Finally, the unadon was served. As I listened to the owner's explanation, I opened the lid to find a generous portion of grilled eel on top. Taking a bite of the eel, I was struck by the savory aroma from the grilling, with the outside being crispy and the inside tender and rich. The sauce was refreshing, allowing the deliciousness of the eel to shine through—it was incredibly tasty. The liver soup was also elegantly flavored and delicious. When my black oolong tea ran out, they kindly offered a refill. Although I didn't take them up on it, I was informed that I could also get a refill on rice, which was a nice service.
