It didn't quite hit the mark for me...From the photos, it seems like the dinner course is significantly upgraded, so perhaps I should have opted for that instead. The food was traditionally prepared and generally above average in taste, but...I've come to realize that, unlike Western cuisine, the price and satisfaction level in Japanese cuisine tend to correlate frighteningly well. To achieve satisfaction while keeping costs down, it seems the sad conclusion is to save up and only dine at high-end restaurants or order expensive dishes.Having five rice options to choose from, with the possibility of ordering all of them, might be a nice choice for a mid-sized restaurant located right in the heart of touristy Kyoto. However, I felt it would have been better if they had focused on one option and added an extra dish instead. Overall, the direction of the menu didn't align with what I was looking for.Additionally, there was a part where you eat the bonito flakes directly and then drink the first dashi made from those flakes. However, I couldn't find any value beyond the performance aspect.
