The attention to detail in the dashi and the delicate handling of the ingredients showcased a high level of craftsmanship in Japanese cuisine.However, considering the overwhelming support it receives on Tabelog, I personally did not feel the level of excitement that matched its reputation.Each dish was carefully prepared and had a gentle flavor, but when asked what left the strongest impression after the meal, I found myself at a loss for words. I didn’t experience any memorable dishes or lingering flavors.The service was polite, with no rudeness whatsoever, but overall it felt rather subdued. The passion for the dishes and ingredients, as well as the warmth of the hospitality, didn’t come through strongly. Even though it was a table seating, the proximity to other diners made it hard to concentrate on my meal, as I could hear the conversations from the neighboring table, which had a distinctly Minato Ward vibe.There were no significant drawbacks in terms of the food, service, or atmosphere. However, considering the nearly JPY 100,000 price tag for two, I did not find the experience to be worth the cost in terms of excitement or satisfaction.I believe the culinary skills are outstanding. On the other hand, I might be looking for not just technical skill in dining out, but also an emotionally moving experience and lingering impressions after the meal.
