First beef noodle soup stop in Taipei at Yong Kang Beef Noodle (永康牛肉麵), one of the most popular and highly recommended places in the city. They've been around since 1963 and sits out of the annual competition for Taipei's best beef noodles, preferring to "pass the baton to new and upcoming restaurants". There are 2 beef noodle soup options - spicy and clear broth. We both ordered the spicy. The best part? The tender beef itself, which is from Australia. They also have other dishes that are quite tasty such as Chopped Pork Ribs and Yams Steamed with Rice and Wonton with Hot Chili Sauce. We're definitely not beef noodle experts but Yong Kang's soup base was not as flavorful as we expected.
