Maison Troisgros has been family run ever since the beginning in the year 1930, and it also serves as the Troisgros family home. In 1968, they received their 3rd Michelin Star and has kept that 3rd star ever since, making it one of the longest consecutive running 3* restaurants in history. Today, it is run by Michel Troisgros (3rd generation) and his son Cesar (4th generation). We are lucky to visit before they close down this location in a few months and re-open on a patch of farmland ~20km away.

We took a short flight to Lyon to begin our 5 day culinary journey around France. We started in the town of Roanne, 2.5 hours away, to visit the institutional 3* La Maison Troisgros where we stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast. Simply put, this was one of the best meals of our lives. Would score this a 10/10 - flawless in every way. The dishes and service were world class. PS. Troisgros is featured in the Netflix series Chef's Table in Season 3, Episode 4. Worth a watch!
