Getting the morning started in Nazareth (1.5 hour drive north of Tel Aviv), which is known as the Arab capital of Israel and also the childhood home of Jesus Christ. Our first stop is Imad Humus Place (חומוס עימאד - נצרת‎‎‎), a local restaurant that is packed early in the morning with customers digging into bowls of delicious hummus as the large shawarma spit slowly turns. The hummus here is delicate, creamy, and not filled with spice typically used to mask the taste. We ordered a feast that consisted of various types of hummus, lamb, pita bread, falafel, pickles, and mixed vegetables. What a great start to the day! We will be hummus hunting with our local foodie friend, @the.hungry.tourist!
