Unafuji (うな富士) is one of Nagoya's most famous and highly rated restaurants to have Hitsumabushi. Just be aware that they take no reservations on weekends, so the line is always very long. It also takes roughly 30 minutes for them to prepare the dish after ordering. 🐍

Hitsumabushi is essentially chopped grilled eel on rice, served in a wooden bowl. The eating procedure is unique, which adds to the overall experience. The whole eel dish is divided into four portions.

1. You put the first portion into your bowl and enjoy as it is.
2. You put the second helping in and add in condiments.
3. The third portion is the same as the second, except you pour in green tea or broth.
4. Enjoy the remaining portion repeating one of the three methods you liked best.
