はやし (Hayashi in Shibuya)
Hayashi is a popular lunch spot in Shibuya, offering some of the best ramen in town. The shop offers a simple menu with 2-3 items, including a golden soup. The bowl is smooth and delicious, and is located next to a championship-winning nail salon.
I'm currently breaking down the Top 100 #hyakumeiten #百名店 shops from around Japan. This one is 71/100 on the Tokyo list.

Recommended bowl: Smooth double soup
Hayashi has been one of the best ramen shops within easy walking distance of Shibuya Station since its debut in 2003. The master, Hayashi-san, does all of the cooking himself, while his wife handles the customers. The shop interior has a very contemporary Tokyo feel – just one long counter packed with salarymen slurping down noodles during their lunch break.

The soup is a silky double broth of tonkotsu and shoyu with gyokai. It's rich, but totally drinkable. The pork and egg toppings are both money. Best of all: a small slice of yuzu rind placed on top. The citrus slowly permeates the soup, giving the bowl a wonderful fragrance. Hayashi is only open for lunch and there’s a line at the door every day. Less
