Steak wines — 03 Cappellano was ripe and pruny, soft acidity, not surprising for the vintage, time to drink up; 12 Accomasso was expressive and approachable; 98 La Chapelle was surprisingly elegant, fresh and aromatic nose, good balance of sweet fruit and savory palate, at peak & above expectation; 10 Solaia was dense, ripe and oak, not something I’d usually drink but good with steak.

Vesta ウェスタ 1st visit — highly rated steakhouse with only 6 tables and 1 private room, the setting was quite intimate. Top quality luxurious ingredients, 5 different cuts of Sanda beef to choose from. The steak was cooked to perfection but I actually enjoyed the seafood, pasta and salad dishes even more. The hotaru ika pasta was delicious, served with 100% silver cutlery. Downsides were high corkage fee and that we were charged 10k yen for accidentally breaking a wine glass.. •
