マロロガ バワン / MAROLOGA Bhavan
中野駅の北に広がる奥中野エリアをご存知でしょうか？昭和レトロな街並みの中に、オシャレの雰囲気の新店も入り混じります。2020年に創業したカレーショップ『マロロガ バワン （MAROLOGA Bhavan)』もその１つ。屋号は「自分のリズムを刻む家」といった意味だそうですが、マイペースみたいな意味でしょうか。確かに、誰も真似でもない自分だけのカレーショップを作り上げているようです。
メニューの中で一番気になったのが唐揚げ定食。カレー屋さんの唐揚げってどんなもんだろう。２０種類ものスパイスを使ったものらしい。だが、６種類ものカレーを楽しめる「カレー全部のせ」には勝てず。笑
「マトン」は辛さと爽やかさを、「チキン」は直線的な辛さと鶏の旨味を、「キーマ」はコク深くゴロゴロと大きさに溢れ、「バターチキン」は甘さがなくトマトの風味がベースになっていて、「サンバル」は優しく酸味を楽しませ、「野菜」はココナッツの風味と存在感のある野菜そのものの旨味を楽しませます。その全てにレベルが高い店などなかなかない。最高です。
でも、やっぱり好奇心に負けて、唐揚げも単品でオーダー。ジューシーでそのジュースがスパイス風味を持って口の中に飛び込んできます。辛口のソースもいいアクセント。これは間違いなくご飯が進むだろうよ。唐揚げ定食でもきっと大きな満足を得ていたことでしょう。

I visited the curry shop "MAROLOGA Bhavan" in the Oku Nakano area, north of Nakano Station, which was founded in 2020. The chef seems to have created a curry shop that is truly unique, as the name suggests.
One menu item that caught my attention was the "Karaage Set Meal." I was curious about what kind of karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken) a curry shop would offer, especially one that uses 20 different spices. However, I decided to start with the "Curry All Toppings," which allows you to enjoy six different curries.
The "Maton" curry offers a balance of spiciness and freshness, "Chicken" provides a straightforward spiciness with the umami of chicken, "Keema" is rich and full of hearty chunks, "Butter Chicken" has a tomato-based flavor without excessive sweetness, "Sambal" offers a gentle acidity, and "Vegetable" delights with the coconut aroma and the pronounced natural flavor of the vegetables. The quality across all of them is exceptional; it's truly a remarkable experience.
Next, driven by curiosity, I ordered the karaage separately. It was juicy, with the juices carrying a spice-infused flavor that bursts into your mouth. The spicy sauce adds a nice accent. Even if you choose the fried chicken set meal, you will definitely be satisfied!
