A place that diehard washoku lovers rave about a lot. Rightly so in that within the Kyoaji lineage, I would say this shop pushes the modernity in flavour a bit more than some of his counterparts, so i would put this pretty high on my list from this lineage. Presentation is straight up, focused on ingredients and flavour. Sometimes when Hoshino-san feels it is appropriate, dishes are just simply tempura'd.. following a trend that I notice more and more at some top washoku places. I am a big fan of tempura but I do feel that more than 1 tempura dish in a washoku course is a little out of place. Nonetheless, tasty dishes and good service. Taisho takes a bit of time to warm up, but he does so throughout the course of the meal.
