Spent the weekend in Halifax doing my favourite thing — eating! There are so many restaurants in @queensmarque now it’s mind-blowing, I basically didn’t walk further than 100m outside of my hotel the whole weekend and dined very well. There’s a reel coming, but here are some highlights:

1. Warm Mushroom Salad @peacockwinebar.hfx with sunchoke puree and roasted Concord grapes
2. Monte Cristo Breakfast Butty @drifthalifax inside the @muirhotelhalifax was a marriage of Monte Cristo sandwich and brown sugar French toast
3. The Sashimi Bowl @toridori.hfx, and those fantastic egg rolls in the background with a cranberry sweet and sour sauce
4. The Red Sky cocktail @bkshfx, the @muirhotelhalifax’s speakeasy! A delicious sparkling storm of tequila, mezcal, sea buckthorn, red wine, chambord and citric acid
5. Oyster-on-oyster-on-oyster @mystichalifax with an edible oyster shell, poached oysters, smoked oyster aioli and caviar
6. Baby halibut also at @mystichalifax the most tender, melt-in-your-mouth fish I’ve ever eaten, with little pops of Parisienne gnocchi, leek, smoke mussel, goldenrod butter Less

Charlevoix was a culinary adventure for all my senses — as I rubbed culinary lavender between my fingers, drove through the rolling hills like a racecar driver, woke up to the highland cows mooing outside my hotel window and ate the squeakiest cheese curds in the world, I discovered just how special this place was.
