"If you love seafood, you must visit this place at least once."After hearing this from numerous food enthusiasts, I finally had the chance to visit the renowned restaurant "Chisou Nishi Kenichi" in Yaizu.Yaizu is known as one of Japan's top fishing ports, but I was amazed at how the local charm could be elevated to such heights through French cuisine. The restaurant is located a bit away from Yaizu Station, making access somewhat inconvenient.Yet, guests from all over the country gather here, and reservations are always hard to come by.You understand why as soon as you sit down and take your first bite. The course features fish primarily sourced from "Sasue Maeda Fish Shop," which Chef Nishi is known to be passionate about, showcasing the bounties of Suruga Bay to their fullest. While seafood takes center stage, it’s neither typical French nor Japanese cuisine.Respect for the ingredients and skill come together, revealing new facets of the fish with each dish. The restaurant has only eight counter seats. There are no extravagant presentations. However, this quiet space naturally draws your focus to the dishes presented before you. What impressed me most was the sensation that transcended mere "deliciousness."Of course, it was delicious. But that alone doesn’t capture the experience. With each bite, emotions stirred within me, making me feel, "I am having a special experience right now."While there are many wonderful restaurants across the country, few leave a lasting impression.Chisou Nishi Kenichi is one of those rare gems.I’m glad I made the trip to Shizuoka.I’m glad I extended my journey to Yaizu. It was a truly heartfelt experience.A chef who can express fish so deliciously and movingly is indeed a rare find.It doesn’t just end with "it was delicious."Even after returning home, the aftertaste lingers, and I find myself thinking about making another reservation. This is the kind of restaurant it is.If you love fish, I highly recommend visiting this place at some point in your life.Thank you for reading until the end! ✨Likes and follows are very welcome! ❤
