A 45min drive on a manual car right after landing 🇧🇪 from a 8h flight for the first time in 18 months, the excitement was real! 🎉 I was going to visit @peter_goossens , the father of Belgium cuisine who bought the restaurant in 1987 (my birthday!), introduced the gastronomic menu in 1992 and finally achieving the highest recognition 🌟🌟🌟 in 2005. The meal was pure perfection from the warm greeting🤗 by wife Lieve who welcome me like a child she hasn’t seen in ages, to the perfect bread 🥖 cart rolling out baked joys, the choreographed service with those white gloves table-side presentations, a unique location surrounded by peace and tranquillity, topping the evening off with one of the top dessert 🧁 carts in Europe (we love mignardises remember). This menu takes global inspiration using local ingredients. The highlight chicken liver mouse wrapped in gold served with hazelnut and cavaillon melon is a statement of the perfect combination achieved by this restaurant, a restaurant that besides the years operating, it is up and in front of the culinary scene in Europe and beyond 🗺 , long live the king 👑
