Riba Tei is said to be a pioneer in offering yakitori courses. Although the counter seating might seem intimidating at first, it turned out to be surprisingly casual! While it is a counter-style restaurant, the atmosphere is not stiff like some recent yakitori places; it feels quite comfortable. The dishes are served in a well-paced omakase style, featuring both skewers and side dishes! First off, the skewers are incredibly delicious. Each skewer has a strong presence, as you can see from the photos! The liver skewers, tongue, and chicken wings each have different textures and fat content, making it enjoyable without becoming monotonous. The liver skewers, in particular, are impressive! They have a rich flavor without being too heavy, keeping the anticipation for the next skewer alive. I also appreciated the structure of the meal, which includes side dishes and vegetables in between the skewers. The large shiitake mushrooms and whole peppers are bursting with flavor! You can enjoy more than just chicken here! Both the skewers and side dishes are top-notch overall. The continuous flow of dishes keeps boredom at bay, and the satisfaction level remains high until the end! To finish, we had the signature fried rice. Despite having eaten quite a bit by this point, I could still enjoy this dish without any problem. Haha! Additionally, the selection of Japanese sake is a delightful bonus. Being able to enjoy several types that pair well with the food significantly enhances the overall satisfaction! This time, the cost was JPY 17,105 per person. With a variety of dishes from yakitori to side dishes and a satisfying amount of sake, it feels like a great deal. Overall, the high level of satisfaction makes it feel like a bargain. I definitely want to go back!
