I read the reviews and called at the opening time to reserve some eel in advance. We came as a party of two and requested one eel each, totaling two. The liver is popular, and I was informed that I could order it if there were any cancellations, so I made a reservation for that as well, just in case. I was torn between the grilled eel and the eel rice bowl, but after consulting with the staff, I learned that I could have one eel split between half grilled and half in the rice bowl, so I went with that. I was thrilled to be able to enjoy both options. After checking in, I was told it would take about an hour to an hour and a half before they would call me. Exactly an hour and a half later, I received the call and returned to the restaurant. Since I had already discussed my order over the phone, I just had to wait for the dishes to arrive. The grilled eel came with various condiments, including yuzu pepper. The sansho pepper paired perfectly with it! Personally, I wish I could have tried it with just salt. The eel rice bowl was fluffy and incredibly delicious. I thought maybe one eel per person would have been enough. It was so good that I already want to eat it again. It seems there were no cancellations for the liver this time.
