It's a bit of a walk from the station, but it's not impossible to get there by train. If you do, you'll need to walk about 700 meters. I'm in the mood for Japanese sake and can't wait to eat.More than half of the ingredients are local, making me feel grateful to be in Fukui. My favorite dish was the hairy crab chawanmushi, as I love shellfish, and the nigiri was anago (conger eel). The sushi rice had a slightly weak vinegar flavor, but it had some variation. The fish was pre-cut and served at the right temperature. They also have a good selection of local sake.
