About an 8-minute walk from Hakone Tozan Railway's Kazamatsuri Station, Unagi Tei Tomoe is renowned as the "Eastern Yokozuna" and is a Michelin Guide-listed eel restaurant. On this day, I made a phone reservation for "Unaju" (grilled eel over rice) and "Kimo-yaki" (grilled eel liver).I arrived an hour after opening and checked in at the reception. After about a 30-minute wait, I was guided to a private room.Just before noon, I noticed a sign saying "Sold Out for Today"...What I enjoyed that day included:- "Soft-shelled Turtle Egg" (a complimentary treat from the restaurant ♡)- "Kimo-yaki" (with sauce)- "Kimo-yaki" (with salt)- "Shirayaki" (grilled eel with wasabi)- "Unaju" (served with eel liver soup and pickles)I felt the richness of the "fat" was even more pronounced than my last visit. While it can be polarizing, as a believer that "fish fat is good for the body," I thoroughly enjoyed the melt-in-your-mouth blue eel. It's so delicious that I can't imagine eating any other eel! ♡I hope to visit again soon to prevent summer fatigue! It was a great meal!
