Just a 2-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, Tori Shige is a long-established restaurant that has been serving grilled offal since 1949, conveniently located right near the south exit of the station. The interior features counter and table seating, creating an atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal while feeling the excitement of the grilling process. The charm of this place lies in its long-standing grilled offal flavors, allowing you to fully appreciate the richness of the meat and the perfect grilling technique. This time, we opted for the omakase and enjoyed a variety of dishes:- Grilled Offal- Liver- Outside Skirt- Chateaubriand- Stuffed Bell PeppersEach grilled item was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and a juicy interior that highlighted the natural flavors of the ingredients. The liver, in particular, was moist and fluffy, leaving a lasting impression with its rich taste. The outside skirt had just the right amount of chewiness while being easy to bite through, and its savory flavor paired excellently with the drinks. The chateaubriand stood out for its tenderness, making it a delightful surprise to enjoy such luxurious meat at a grilled offal restaurant. With the perfect grilling, each bite released juices and flavors, and the simple seasoning was more than satisfying. The stuffed bell peppers combined the slight bitterness of the peppers with the juiciness of the meat, making it a memorable dish. This dish allowed us to enjoy both vegetables and meat, serving as a refreshing break while still being hearty.Overall, the meal showcased not only the quality of the ingredients but also the high level of grilling technique. The convenient 2-minute access from Shinjuku Station is a bonus, making it easy to stop by after work. This is a place I would love to visit again on days when I want to enjoy a good meal along with drinks.
