After a three-month hiatus, I returned to Eragon, a restaurant consistently recognized as one of the top 100 yakitori spots in the WEST and awarded a Bronze rating. The basic course includes a selection of seven grilled items, three palate cleansers, and a soup for JPY 8,800. You can also add extra dishes and a final course. The appetizer was a refreshing chilled chawanmushi (savory egg custard) with tomatoes and okra, perfect for summer. Additional dishes featured seasonal items, but I was disappointed to see grilled vegetables were missing. The white liver pâté and kombu-marinated chicken breast are must-tries, and my first-time guest was thoroughly impressed. We started with the grilled chicken breast, which was perfectly cooked to a warm rare, just like last time. The following cuts, including the fatty parts like the wing and drumstick, were juicy and satisfying. We also added offal items like liver, heart, and gizzard, which were particularly good—these should definitely be included in the course. For the final course, we shared a chicken and egg rice bowl and a chicken paitan ramen, both delicious and very satisfying. The bill came to around JPY 16,000 after quite a bit of drinking, which is still a great value. Reservations through TableCheck have started, making it even harder to book a table, but I definitely want to keep coming back to this place. It was a great meal.Today's Course: Appetizer: Chilled Chawanmushi, Red Eggplant Palate Cleanser: Yuba Tofu, Red Eggplant with Chicken Flakes, Pickles Grilled Items: Chicken Breast, Wing, Drumstick, Neck, Chicken Thigh with Sauce, Quail, Tsukune (Chicken Meatball)Additional Dishes: White Liver Pâté Kombu-marinated Chicken Breast Grilled Chicken Thigh with Wasabi Spicy Miso-marinated Senshu EggplantFinal Course: Chicken Paitan Ramen, Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl
