I was invited by a friend to experience what they described as an extraordinary eel dish. The reservation was not for a specific time or table, but rather for securing the eels themselves, as my friend had booked two eels and their livers a month in advance. It's important to note that you can't reserve a time slot.On the day of our visit, we arrived around 12:30 PM, only to find out we had to wait about two hours to be seated! The parking lot was full, which shows just how popular this place is. There’s a museum and café nearby, so we spent the waiting time shopping and enjoying some tea. Now, onto the eel itself—it was simply exquisite. They use rare blue eel, and the skin was tender while the flesh was surprisingly fluffy. There was no fishy smell at all, and although it had a good amount of fat, it wasn’t heavy; the refined sweetness lingered pleasantly until the end. Moreover, the portions were generous. As noted on the menu, it was quite filling. While waiting for the eel to arrive, we enjoyed an assorted platter of delicacies and grilled liver, which paired perfectly with our drinks. As a complimentary treat, we also tried soft-shelled turtle eggs for the first time.Despite the crowd, the service was exceptionally attentive, and the private room we were shown to had a calm atmosphere, allowing us to enjoy our time from entry to exit.It was a great meal!
