This Chinese restaurant ranks 4th in Tokyo and 13th nationwide.Despite being a Silver-rated establishment on Tabelog with a score of 4.3, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make a reservation. I booked a Sunday lunch slot about two months in advance.I ordered the "Seasonal Omakase Course," which included 9 dishes. The portions were quite small, with each dish being just a bite or two. I had to take close-up shots to make the food look appealing (though I still have room for improvement in my photography skills). However, this modest portion size might cater to the preferences of the clientele. Looking around, it seemed that many diners wanted to sample a variety of dishes. The menu primarily features Sichuan cuisine, with many spicy options, but there are also dishes like Peking duck and steamed fish that showcase other culinary styles. As for the Sichuan dishes, the numbing sensation from the "ma" flavor wasn’t overwhelmingly strong. While there wasn’t a standout dish that left me in awe, the "Spicy Chicken Stir-fry (Laziji)," "Steamed Fish," and "Abalone Risotto-style Fried Rice" were all consistently delicious and high-quality.What’s particularly noteworthy is that this course is only JPY 6,600! Considering the price, the portion sizes mentioned earlier are hardly an issue. Enjoying such high-level Chinese cuisine in the JPY 6,000 range is undoubtedly worth more than the price suggests. Personally, I feel that if the price were to increase slightly, it would be beneficial to enhance the portion sizes for greater satisfaction after the meal. The interior is stunning, and even with dishes that involve frying chili peppers, there was no overwhelming smell or discomfort from the air. I believe the ventilation system is quite effective. There were plenty of drink options, but I opted for the classic Shaoxing wine and tea today.I felt that the pricing of the course somewhat limited the restaurant's potential, so next time, I’d like to invite more friends and try various new dishes from the à la carte menu.
