Today, I visited the renowned yakitori restaurant "Yakitori Taniguchi Mayumi" located just a 5-minute walk from Mukonoso Station in Amagasaki City.We started with a warm chicken consomme soup, which was a comforting way to begin the meal. Following that, a wave of sashimi and grilled dishes was served.First up were the chicken breast sashimi, heart, white liver sashimi, and grilled chicken breast—what a fantastic start! At this point, I was already feeling quite full! The white liver is essentially foie gras, but personally, I prefer the chicken's white liver over foie gras. It was truly delicious! The other grilled items and the grilled thigh were perfectly seasoned and incredibly tasty. Then, the skewers began! We had tsukune, bonjiri, tomato, and negima. The tsukune was not the usual firm type; it was soft and fluffy, making it exceptionally delicious. The bonjiri was larger than what I usually find at other yakitori places! The skin was crispy, and the meat was juicy! This might be the best bonjiri I've ever had—clearly better than those from famous places in Kyoto. The tomato was sweet and delicious, with its moisture concentrated, reminiscent of a sweet root vegetable.Next, we had chicken wings, cucumber salad, and freshly fried thick tofu. This thick tofu was amazing! The combination of soy sauce and ginger was perfect! I actually wanted to have another piece. As we approached the finish, we enjoyed toasted liver pate, grilled chicken thigh (salted), broccoli, and sori (the base of the thigh). The portion sizes were impressive. It might be a bit much for women. It was a course filled with generous portions.By the way, the grilling was done by a woman (the owner), who took great care in preparing everything.Every skewer was delicious! I was astonished by my lack of vocabulary to describe it all.For two and a half hours, all I could say was how delicious everything was.It was truly amazing! It was a great meal!
