I visited Rin, a reservation-only restaurant, aiming to enjoy the famous eel from Lake Hamana. I made a reservation about a month in advance, as they only serve 20 meals per day, so an early booking is recommended.The Tabelog rating was quite high, and my expectations were exceeded upon arrival. The eel was exquisite, perfectly grilled with a crispy skin and tender flesh—absolutely no complaints.What stood out even more was the rice. They use Koshihikari from Toyama Prefecture, which had a firm texture and a rich flavor that intensified with each bite. They even offer refills if you ask. Despite being a high-end restaurant, they pay attention to such details in service.The owner was very kind, even seeing me off outside when I left, which made me feel that the level of hospitality matched the quality of the food. The total bill was JPY 8,800, but given the satisfaction I experienced, it didn’t feel expensive at all. If you find yourself in Hamamatsu, I would definitely recommend visiting this place again.
