The first memorable stop on my trip to Kagawa was at Suzaki Shokuryohin Ten.I arrived 15 minutes before opening, and thanks to a staff member outside holding a udon fan, I was able to find the parking lot smoothly without getting lost, even as a first-time visitor. I received a numbered entry card at the entrance and joined the line with rising anticipation. When ordering, you choose whether you want your noodles cold or hot, and the portion size—large or small. Since I had more places to visit afterward, I opted for a small cold serving with just an egg as a topping. While moving through the line, I discovered souvenir udon that I could enjoy at home, so I made sure to purchase some as well. After a seamless operation, I received my udon and completed the payment before moving to a separate building to finally enjoy my noodles. The noodles in front of me glistened beautifully, immediately catching my eye. As I took a bite, I was greeted with a pleasant chewiness and a strong texture that is characteristic of authentic udon. I was genuinely impressed by the incredible quality and the fact that it was only around JPY 400, even with the egg.Since I ordered it cold this time, I didn’t fully experience the rich flavor of the wheat in the udon, so I made a mental note to try the hot noodles next time. It was a fantastic start to my trip. It was a great meal!
