I visited Tokuha Motonari after a long time. This time in Kyoto, it was 37 degrees, and I felt like I was melting, just like the song "Torokechau Dandy" by mihimaru GT.As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by a heavenly coolness. I felt revived!Since it was the Gion Matsuri, the first dish was themed around it! (I got so caught up in eating that I forgot to pay attention to the explanation, haha.) By the way, one of my top two favorite ingredients at Tokuha Motonari, Kamo eggplant, was included, making me feel happy right from the first dish. Moreover, today’s course featured one of my top two favorites, Hamo (pike eel), served slightly grilled. When I dipped it in the plum sauce and took a bite, I couldn’t help but shout in my heart, "This is amazing!" just like Inaba-san does during his live performances. The fish, grilled slowly over charcoal, was so delicious that I could eat the bones too! And above all, the white rice was incredibly tasty! I saved some of the plum sauce from the Hamo and poured it over the glossy, delicious white rice, and I devoured it!Once again, I was very satisfied with both the quality and quantity. For just 30,000 yen, I even had some change left over, which is great value! Everything was top-notch.I’ll be back in December!
