Located a 15-minute walk from Kamakura Station, Ichirin Hanare quietly stands in a lush and serene area. The space, which was once the residence of a former French diplomat, beautifully incorporates a traditional Japanese house and garden, instantly making you feel like you are entering a special moment. The weekday-only lunch course I reserved in advance was impressive right from the first bite of the "Chilled Corn Soup," showcasing exceptional quality. The highlight was undoubtedly the signature dish, "Yodare Chicken," paired with liver pâté. The style of mixing the leftover exquisite sauce with grilled gyoza and Sichuan noodles was a continuous delight, filled with originality in aroma, texture, and flavor. The additional order of "Mapo Tofu" to finish off the meal was overwhelmingly delicious and paired perfectly with rice.During the tasting of five paired Chinese wines, the deep richness of "Shikumen Shanghai Rice Wine" and "Jimo Old Wine 5-Year Aged Fragrant Type" matched the dishes beautifully.Even the post-meal sweets, "Sesame Caramel" and "Sichuan Chocolate Cake," were flawlessly delicious. The staff's refined and warm hospitality was also remarkable, making this a place where both your palate and heart are thoroughly satisfied.
