It seemed fully booked for reservations, but when I mentioned I was alone, they kindly accepted me. The exterior of the restaurant is easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Upon entering, you walk down a narrow corridor that leads to a spacious area filled with natural light from the courtyard, creating a truly lovely atmosphere. The garden is beautiful. It was just the right time as the lunch crowd was leaving, and a seat was prepared for me at the counter. The wooden counter feels great. After walking around Matsumoto Castle and the Matsumoto City Museum of Art since morning, I was quite thirsty. I ordered a beer and an unaju (grilled eel over rice). The beer is Asahi Premium Beer Junmai. It comes in a thin, small glass. Ah, it really hits the spot. The wait for the eel to arrive is part of the enjoyment. I took my time sipping the beer, enjoying the view of the garden as time passed. Then, the unaju arrived. I opened the lid to reveal it. The size, glaze, and aroma were all perfect. It was fluffy and tender, yet the surface was crispy and had a roasted flavor, almost like it was grilled traditionally, but slightly different. Perhaps they use a special grilling method. It was so delicious that I felt like devouring it all at once, but I deliberately took my time to savor each bite. The price is high, but I didn't mind it at all. The value is determined by the customer, and I was simply grateful for the experience that exceeded the price.
