I was searching for a delicious soba restaurant and found Teuchi Soba Jiyu San. Not only is it listed among the top 100 restaurants, but it also shines with a bronze award, so I was really curious about it.During lunch, there seems to be a line, but at night, it’s reservation only. I made a reservation a month in advance, and I was grateful that if you join on the reservation start date, it’s easy to secure a spot!The interior was cozier than I expected. I arrived after 6 PM, and there was only one table left.⚫︎ Toasting Ceremony We started with a toast using Heartland beer. Oh, the one I poured was full of foam, while my gourmet partner poured one without foam (laughs).⚫︎ Appetizers Here, they serve a platter of appetizers as the first dish. Everything was delicious, but the pickled turnip stood out ⭐︎. Thanks to that, I ended up taking my time eating, which made me linger longer than I intended (sweat).⚫︎ Jiyu Course I was unsure about what to order, but since it was my first time, I decided to go with this course.⚫︎ Itawasa This is a famous dish from Wakayama. The surface is crispy and bursting with flavor. ⚫︎ Zenmai Lightly seasoned and delicious. By the way, my gourmet partner said this was the best dish of the day. ⚫︎ Tamagoyaki Fluffy and perfectly cooked. The richness of the dashi is exquisite—not too strong or overwhelming. ⚫︎ Soba Gome Tororo The aroma of seaweed combined with the crunchy rock seaweed is natural. Personally, I prefer it without mixing! ♡ ⚫︎ Cold: Seiro Soba Thin and refreshing. ⚫︎ Inaka Seiro I added this one by reservation. It doesn’t taste like a countryside soba... The flavor and texture are outstanding. ⚫︎ Warm: Small Herring Soba This was surprisingly delicious! What is this herring? Rich and thick. ⚫︎ Mizu Azuki It melts away smoothly in your mouth.I also had some soba gaki on the side, and it was incredibly delicious! Without a doubt, this soba gaki is the best I’ve ever had.The price was a bit high, but every dish was amazing and at an astonishing level.
