A Memorable Lunch Course to Enjoy Nature's Bounty with All Your SensesI visited "LATURE," located within walking distance from Omotesando Station, for lunch. This time, I enjoyed the "Menu LATURE PLUS〈Lunch Special Course〉" priced at JPY 8,800. It was a course that truly showcased the essence of LATURE, incorporating game meat and seasonal ingredients. The first dish was a macaron made with deer blood. Its striking appearance immediately heightened my expectations.Next came a potato potage, accented with the fragrance of shiso, offering a gentle and smooth flavor. The striped jack (shimaaji) carpaccio highlighted the freshness of the fish, making it a refreshing delight. One dish that particularly stood out was a terrine of Ezo venison, bear, and foie gras wrapped in puff pastry. The rich flavors of the game meat combined beautifully with the decadence of the foie gras, creating a satisfying taste experience. The sweetfish (ayu) wrapped in pastry was also beautifully presented, showcasing a creative idea of pairing the fish's flavor with the pastry. For the main course, I had roasted Ezo venison loin from Hokkaido. It was cooked to perfection, moist and elegant, allowing me to savor the robust umami unique to game meat. The dessert was inspired by the image of "drops." It featured a jelly made from water from Aso, pistachio ice cream, and figs, providing a beautiful finish to the meal. This course was distinct from typical French cuisine, impressively expressing the bounty of mountains and forests. Including dishes made with game like deer and bear, it was a unique experience that felt exclusive to this restaurant. With its visually appealing dishes, delightful aromas, and exquisite flavors, this special lunch is perfect for anniversaries or a luxurious treat.
