Located at 3-1-4 Ehara-cho, Nakano-ku, Tokyo, I had been looking forward to enjoying delicious soba, and I made an online reservation at Teuchi Soba Jiyu San. This renowned restaurant is listed among the top 100 soba places in the EAST and has received the Tabelog Award BRONZE!I arrived at 5:30 PM for my reservation, and I was the first customer of the evening. I was warmly welcomed by the chef and the owner, and I took a seat at the counter. From this moment, I was already impressed.I ordered:- Heartland (beer)- Seiro Soba- Duck Roast- Itawasa[Appetizer]Four small dishes beautifully presented in individual bowls. Each one was rich in the natural flavors of the ingredients.[Duck Roast]Lightly flavored with a tender texture. The deliciousness of the duck was fully brought out, making it incredibly tasty.[Itawasa]Served with a small amount of grated wasabi and light soy sauce. The fragrant wasabi provided a delightful kick. The aromatic wasabi was truly delicious.[Seiro Soba]The star of the show. Of course, it was Ju-wari soba. I picked up some noodles with my chopsticks, dipped them halfway into the sauce, and slurped them up. The smooth noodles released the aroma of the soba with every bite. Even without any wheat flour as a binder, the texture was pleasantly chewy, and there was no crumbling at all. Eating it with wasabi and green onions enhanced the flavors, allowing me to enjoy a different taste experience.This is what delicious soba is all about.
