The restaurant is located in an excellent spot on the south side of the Imperial Palace.Surprisingly, it’s on the first floor of an apartment building, where the owner warmly welcomes you and guides you inside. There are two counters and private rooms. I enjoyed a lunch-only course at the first-floor counter (with 9 seats), but out of the 9 guests, 6 (including 5 regulars) were having the dinner course. It was innovative to taste freshly shaved bonito flakes (two types) side by side, and to drink the first dashi made from well water right in front of the counter. On the other hand, many of the dishes in the lunch course were brought directly from the kitchen, which lacked a bit of the live cooking experience, but they were delicious nonetheless. At the first-floor counter, I could enjoy the lively conversations between the chef and the regulars, and the friendly chef also chatted with me, making for a delightful time.He had a cute smile and was very approachable.Tabelog Silver & Michelin ⭐ Star.
