I traveled to Hamamatsu and felt I had to try eel and gyoza, so I made a reservation at Rin. On the way, I got sidetracked by some street performers, which made me late and I had trouble finding the restaurant. Just when I was starting to panic, I spotted a woman walking while looking at her smartphone, just like me. I finally arrived safely! I was seated at the counter, but unfortunately, the view of the eel being grilled was a bit obstructed. The pork kakuni that was served first was tender and delicious. The restaurant was filled with the wonderful aroma of eel and sauce. Finally, my highly anticipated dish of Nishiko eel arrived. The outside was crispy while the inside was melt-in-your-mouth tender—so good! It was worth the splurge.
