Kushi Katsu A-bonFinally made it to my long-awaited visit to A-bon.This restaurant is notoriously difficult to book, with phone lines overwhelmed on the first of every month, causing communication issues. I was thrilled to finally dine at this super popular spot.To cut to the chase, everything was delicious.When you think of kushi katsu, you might imagine something heavy, but here, it was surprisingly light and didn’t leave me feeling stuffed at all. The quality of the ingredients is evident, and the frying technique is truly exquisite.On this day, I devoured an incredible 33 skewers, plus soba, rice balls, and ochazuke.The rice balls, in particular, were exceptional. Simple yet incredibly tasty, they were the perfect way to finish the meal.The shrimp was top-notch, and the skewers paired with prosciutto were memorable, with each dish offering a delightful surprise. Watching the chef and staff at work from the counter was also an enjoyable experience.While securing a reservation is challenging, it is more than worth it.I definitely want to go back, though I’m not sure when that will be (laughs).It was a great meal! ✨
