I visited Yakitori Taniguchi, located in Mukonoso, Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture! This is a must-visit restaurant for yakitori lovers, renowned as one of the best in Kansai. It is famous for its omakase course featuring the rare Takasaka chicken, and has been recognized in the Tabelog Awards and as one of the top 100 restaurants.Currently, Chef Taniguchi is managing a new location in Temmabashi, while the Mukonoso branch is run by Saori, who has gained extensive experience as his second-in-command.Honestly, I initially wondered if the atmosphere would change without the chef. However, those concerns were blown away with the first skewer. The precision of the grilling is on par with Chef Taniguchi, yet you can also feel Saori's unique touch.Instead of aggressively charring the meat, she gently envelops the ingredients' flavors. Each skewer brings out the natural sweetness and aroma of the chicken, leaving a delicate aftertaste. The grace and finesse typical of a woman shine through the entire course, making it a truly pleasant experience.Of course, I thoroughly enjoyed the charm of Takasaka chicken, from sashimi to grilled dishes. The thoughtful arrangement that highlights the individuality of each part of the chicken is impressive, allowing for a rich variety of flavors that make it hard to believe they all come from the same bird. Each skewer is served at just the right timing, showcasing the excellent pace that comes with being a popular restaurant.Additionally, I was particularly impressed by their attention to allergies. They prepared a special chicken tender rice bowl tailored to my food allergies. This was not just a substitute dish, but a high-quality item in its own right. The moist chicken tender paired beautifully with the rice, and I felt no compromise at all, despite it being an allergy-friendly option. I am truly grateful for their thoughtful consideration. And the final delight was the pudding to finish off the meal. This was truly exquisite. With a smooth texture and rich flavor, it gently wraps up the lingering taste of the yakitori. The sweetness is subtle, creating a flavor that brings a smile to adults. It easily surpasses the level of a typical dessert from a yakitori restaurant! While the quality of the dishes is certainly impressive, what stood out most was the warm hospitality from Saori and the entire staff. There’s a relaxed atmosphere that allows you to enjoy your meal without pretense, yet there is no compromise in the food. I felt that this delicate balance is what makes this restaurant so appealing. While cherishing the brand that Chef Taniguchi has built, Saori adds her own kindness and delicacy, creating a new charm. I can confidently recommend this place to both those who have been coming since the chef's era and first-time visitors alike.I once again realized how fortunate I am to enjoy such high-quality yakitori in Mukonoso. I look forward to visiting again in a different season to experience the variations of Takasaka chicken. It was a great meal!
