I made a reservation over the phone after seeing availability on Instagram. This was my first visit to a place I had been curious about since it opened but hadn’t been able to go to until now. First off, the service from the staff was excellent. I ordered a glass of white wine and enjoyed some olives as an appetizer. Since it’s an a la carte menu, I ordered a few dishes:⚫︎ Yamako Tuna Bruschetta I might get scolded by regulars for saying this, but didn’t it lack a bit of salt? A sprinkle of rock salt or a few drops of soy sauce would make it absolutely delicious!⚫︎ Yellowtail Carpaccio It was neither good nor bad.⚫︎ Kobe Beef Salt Stew Delicious! It was a bit on the lighter side, but I think they want you to appreciate the natural flavors of the ingredients. Since there’s pasta coming later, maybe this level of seasoning is just right. The staff explained that they are making a pure broth with salt and meat!⚫︎ Matsutake Aglio e Olio I expected a stronger aroma of matsutake, but it was quite subtle.⚫︎ Akashira Shrimp with Zucchini and Mint It was okay, nothing memorable.◎ Squid Ragu Sauce Delicious! The sauce made with squid innards was fantastic!! This ragu sauce was the highlight of the meal.◎ Pudding The caramel was delicious.Overall, it lacked impact. Maybe I had too high expectations for the price.
