It seems that there are no reservations available in the restaurant, so I have to participate in the reservation scramble again as a newcomer. This is a full-course eel meal. Due to the toxins in their blood, eel is rarely served as sashimi, but here you can enjoy it. Starting with the sashimi, I must say it has a strong iron taste, almost like I’m chewing on an iron bar—there’s a lot of iron in it! The texture is quite robust and raw, which can be quite an acquired taste. I’m not sure what kind of alcohol would pair well with it...The grilled eel, whether farmed or wild, is carefully steamed and has a firm texture. It’s thick and truly satisfying to eat, with just the right amount of fat. This exquisite eel is hard to come by, but I would love to return if I can make a reservation again!
