Located at the edge of Nara Park, this beautiful standalone house can be found after a walk from Kintetsu Nara Station, where you might encounter some deer along the way.The cuisine is innovative, based on Spanish dishes.Using a wealth of local ingredients from Nara, it’s fascinating how the restaurant manages to evoke both Spanish flavors and a strong sense of Japan, particularly Nara. Each dish comes with a card, and by scanning the QR code, you can check detailed information about the dish at any time. This service is especially appreciated by someone like me, who often wonders, "What was that again?"**4th Dish: Smoked Amago Trout with Watercress**This dish features smoked amago trout caught in the Nosegawa village in southern Nara, paired with watercress. The smoky aroma of the trout brings out the wild essence of river fish.Combined with the freshness of the watercress, it truly evokes the feeling of a summer river, just as the name suggests.**6th Dish: Duck and Pear Terrine**Despite being a duck terrine, it is surprisingly light with almost no greasiness. The addition of juicy pear makes it even more refreshing, making it one of my favorites for a summer terrine.**7th Dish: Katsuo with Shiso in Squid Ink Pesto**This innovative dish replaces traditional pesto with squid ink.The rich umami of the squid ink pairs beautifully with the refreshing flavors of katsuo and shiso. It’s interesting how familiar ingredients can create an entirely different dish when combined in this way.**8th Dish: Fried Hamo with Yellow Gazpacho**This dish features fried hamo paired with a yellow gazpacho. It was intriguing to see how the bread typically mixed into gazpacho is expressed here as a batter for the fritter.**12th Dish: Lemon Tart with Tonka Bean Gelato**My personal MVP.The tart is refreshingly tangy, complemented by the sweet and aromatic tonka bean gelato. The combination of acidity and sweetness is outstanding. The slight bitterness of the citrus peel adds a nice accent, leaving a strong impression until the very end.The course is around JPY 20,000.In a city like Nara, known for its renowned Japanese cuisine, this restaurant offers a completely different perspective on Nara, making it worthwhile to visit and dine here.
