During this trip, I was really looking forward to visiting Fenetre, a one-star Michelin restaurant in Nakashibetsu since 2017.They offer only a dinner course priced at JPY 14,300, starting promptly at 6:30 PM. I heard they will raise prices in October, so I felt like I got a good deal.The location is fantastic, nestled in the woods of Nakashibetsu, just a step off the main road.Taxis in the city cannot be reserved and only a couple are in operation, so it's wise to plan ahead. Walking is not an option due to the area's regular bear sightings.I was impressed by the refreshing dishes that showcased the wonderful local ingredients from the eastern region, such as salted sea urchin, Hanazaki crab, and skate. My mother also enjoyed it, making my efforts to attend worthwhile.We savored about four glasses of wine, including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.If I had this meal in Tokyo, I can only imagine how shocking the bill would be, so I truly appreciate the reasonable prices in eastern Hokkaido.Traveling to eastern Hokkaido is quite a challenge, but if I come back, I would definitely want to visit this wonderful restaurant again.
